Forgiveness

By Aaron Waddell

Emotions raw, so many in pain.

A pastured lamb, tears falling like rain.

Spirit light, the body a lamp,

in darkened caves, and refugee camps.

Soft and still, this quiet embrace.

Dear and sweet, the sight of His face,

Turning there, I glimpse a memory

Of what I was before the Pleiades.

Remaining still, this form, it goes weak,

Collapses now, I cannot speak. These

Words elude, when joy commences -

Crumbles walls, and topples fences.

Place a crown upon His head. The

Son of God, no longer led down

Dusty paths and worn-down trails.

Evil’s gone. Love will prevail.

If this poem stirs something in you—however faint—I invite you to pause. To breathe. To forgive. And to remember: your light is needed. Your peace is powerful. Your presence is a blessing.

Let’s walk gently together.
