Grilled Green Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen green onions (scallions), washed and dried

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • kosher salt and black pepper

Preparation

  1. Heat grill

  2. Cut off about ½ inch or so from the root end and green parts of the onions. (If they're particularly thick, cut them in half, lengthwise. Toss them with the olive oil on a baking sheet and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  3. Once the grill is very hot, add the onions and grill to mark each side, and soften them a bit, about 4 minutes total.
